With Actuality Media, students travel to a developing country to tell the story of a changemaker in that community. In each study abroad experience crews research, write, shoot and edit a 5 to 15 minute short documentary.Actuality Media is a social purpose organization that aims to uncover the heroes among us. Leveraging media students as the storytellers, we produce short documentaries about changemakers around the world.The field of social entrepreneurship has been quietly growing over the past thirty years. Individuals and organizations across the globe, often isolated from support, are attacking chronic social problems in shockingly innovative ways.As they try, they may fail, but they experiment, get feedback, adapt, measure results, and improve. These changemakers are brilliant innovators. There is no stopping until they figure out how to making a lasting and sustainable impact; not just by treating the symptoms, but by pulling it out at the roots.
